Frequently Asked Questions

Who are your clients?

We will work with anyone who needs computer work.  The vast majority of our clients are other software companies who reach out to us to complete projects that just don't seem to ever get done.  They may also reach out to us because our knowledge and experience is greater than what they have in house as it applies to the project.

We do not reveal the identities of any prime contractors for which we are subcontractors.  We also do not reveal the identities of the end-user customer in this situation either.  This is to protect both our business and the business of the prime contractor.  Please see our blog of accomplishments for more information about the projects we've worked on.

As far as PC Repair is concerned, we have worked with everyone from those with zero knowledge of computers to people with a great deal of knowledge but who just don't want to deal with the problem themselves.  All are welcome to contact us.

What is your code of ethics?

President Jason Covey is a professional member of the ACM (Association for Computing Machinery) and takes his requirement to obey their code of ethics very seriously.  This company will not perform any requested work for any client which violates that code of ethics.  In addition, no employee or contractor working under him will take any action that violates that code without consequence.  The text of the ACM Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct can be found by following this link: http://www.acm.org/about/code-of-ethics.

Are you insured?

Yes. We carry a general liability insurance policy with The Hartford and would be more than happy to name any customer as an additional insured prior to starting a project.

What are your average costs?

While the cost of any job is highly dependent upon it's circumstances, we find that a ball park figure is reasonable to ask for.  The following are our average prices charged to customers across all jobs in 2011.

PC Repair Job (labor only): $68.85

PC Repair Job (parts only): $87.33

New Desktop PC Purchase: $425.19

New Tablet PC Purchase: $849.99

Custom Software Development (per hour): $48.75

Web Design (building of a website from start to finish): $1,219.95

These figures are intended only to give you a general idea of our prices.  Your specific costs may vary wildly from these statistics depending upon your circumstances.  These numbers are the average numbers across all of our customers.

If you need an exact quote please do not hesitate to contact us.

Unless the customer insists, we will not perform computer repair services which will exceed a large percentage of the cost of a new PC.  In these cases we will recommend the purchase of a new PC.

Where is your office located?

We do not have a central office. We operate using remote technology and by traveling to customer locations.  Because of the nature of our business we find working out of our homes to be more efficient and pass the lack-of-overhead savings onto the customer.  You can send postal mail to us at PO Box 4637 Utica, NY 13504.  Mail is checked daily.

Will you come fix my computer in the middle of a blizzard?

While we will be happy to help you over the phone and using remote technology, we will not travel on days in which the Herkimer Central School District closes for weather-related reasons--safety first.
