Step 1: The Interview
The first step of the website process begins with a meeting between the designer and the client. The client should have a prepared idea of what they want on their website and what elements they want included in the visual aspect. The client should note any interest in photo albums, videos, animation, newsletters, and what colors or fonts they would especially like to see. If the client has sales material or logos, they should be provided to the designer at this time.
The goal of the meeting is to find a quote and design which works within the client's budget. Prices of websites can vary wildly from client to client depending on what is requested. The quote will include the price of a domain name (if necessary) and the first year of hosting. The only limit on a website is the client's imagination and we'll strive to exceed the client's expectations and come in under budget.
A 30% deposit on the quote is required to begin work on the website. Clients have the option of providing their own hosting but it must be compatible with our software. Please check with us before purchasing hosting on your own.
Step 2: Design Review
In this stage the designer reveals the design of the site to the client. This will not be the entire working site, but just one page of it so the design itself can be discussed. The client may make any changes to the site they want that is within the scope of the original agreement. The changes are made and the client again may request any changes at a second design meeting. After these second round of changes are made the design is set in stone. Any future design change requests, or requests made outside the scope of the original agreement will be billed at $30/hour.
50% of the original quote is required to be paid at this stage along with any additional charges stemming from revisions before moving on to the next step.
Step 3: Training
In this step you or your staff is trained in the ways of updating the site. We build our sites using easy-to-use client friendly software that gives you full control over menus, images, and text content. You will receive one hour of on-site training. Additional training hours may be purchased at the rate of $20/hour. Revisions requested at training may be purchased for $50/hour (revisions are much more difficult at this stage, but do-able).
At the end of this stage payment-in-full is required for any outstanding charges on the original quote and for any charges incurred due to revisions or extra training in this stage.
Step 4: Make It Live!
The site becomes live when we link your domain name to our servers where the new website resides. Once this happens the entire world will be able to enjoy and browse your new online presence. Congratulations! If you have a site which will require maintenance we have affordable and flexible support plans available.
Within two weeks after the website is deployed bugs will be fixed by us free of charge or support hours. After two weeks the customer agrees that the system will be considered bug-free and it will be at our discretion as to whether we charge time to support hours (if applicable) or to charge our standard support fee.
